Celebrating Nearly 50 Years of Participation in Iowa's
Rock 'N Roll Music Heritage
Thanks for joining us, as we reminisce and celebrate our Rock 'n Roll roots in Iowa. This site provides information about bands in which we've played, bands in which we wished we played, including bands in which our friends played. The "Bands in Which We've Played" include Mourning Glory Rock Band; Free On 12; Armageddon; Posse; Cloud Ten, The Kilowatt Pioneers; Deputy Dawg; Joker; Dr. Bop and the Med-Funk Showstoppers; monkeywrench; Uncle Walt and others.
Be sure to watch for the actual music available on this site. Just click on the arrows pointed to the right to hear original songs and other music. You'll see some pages listed at left which are dedicated to original music.
We have provided links to other sites you'll enjoy, such as the Rock 'N Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland, Ohio, and the Iowa Rock 'N Roll Music Association, based in Arnolds Park, Iowa. You can find these links on the page called "Links" (duh, as our children would say). In the future we'll establish links to our favorite bands still working today, and even the music stores in which we spend all our money.
We will share some stories and fun facts about our days on the road together, and we hope you will send us some thoughts to share as well. You can send us your comments, memories, requests and corrections by using the form below. Be patient in waiting for a response. Now that we're all grown-ups and have real jobs, looking after this web site has to be tucked in between work, families and other obligations (yes, we've turned into the people about whom we used to sing protest songs!)
If you REALLY love us and other rock musicians, and want to be supportive, you can support the Iowa Rock 'n Roll Hall Music Association (IRRMA) by becoming a member and/or making at donation at www.iowarocknroll.com.
Pictured at the very top of this home page are members of Mourning Glory Rock Band, in about 1973. Mourning Glory was based in Dayton, Iowa. You can see more details by following the links to specific bands. Many of the better-quality photos taken in the 1970s were by Reine Clarke, who operates a professional photography business in Fort Dodge, Iowa today.
Care to share? We'd love to hear from you:
